Script:
Reality – The future scenario has to be one that is practical to the future projection of 2020-2030. My future scenario concentrates on community growth, focusing on the decentralisation of an urban city and economic growth.
Creativity
– Is the concept uniquely and critically engaging within Paddington’s context?
Paddington has a driving force of local traders within the community. Bringing
these trades together with the opportunity to promote themselves through retail
theatre, and therefore consumers experience the three cores of retail theatre:
Expression, Exploration and Discovery.
Stage:
Purpose-
The function of the precinct is centred essentially around providing spaces to
cater for the whole of Paddington. Consumers will form communities through
retail theatre contributing to product and community development. This in turn
will create social events and the community will start to be perceived as a reflection
of the individual’s personal values.
Navigation – Does the building justifiably fit
within Paddington’s context. The building will essentially have a free facade
with many spaces and activities viewable from street level.
Integrity – Appropriate usage of materials and
technologies will be used in the design to cater for such topics as future
sustainability.
Scenes:
Presence and Identity – How does the intervention fit
within and promote Paddington Central? Traders outside of Paddington will want
to become part of the community and the precinct will offer a space where they
can promote themselves and if the community wishes, accept them as part of the
community growth.
First Person Experience – consumers play to learn about
their community and find useful information. Through this process they then
contribute to the product development and perceive the brand and community
growth as a reflection of personal values. Consumers learn about their
community, build confidence with whats within their community, and form
relationships.
